In our Language Arts class, we had a unit about Holocaust and how the spirit of the Holocaust is still alive today. In that unit, we read the book Night by Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel is a Holocaust survivor. As a young, Jewish boy he was taken from his home with his family by the Nazis. He was taken because he is Jewish. Jews were one of the most hated groups of the Nazis.
The Germans at the time believed that the Jews would do anything for money. They were pictured as looking greedy with a big nose and the Star Of David somewhere on their clothing. They weren't the only ones being stereotyped. Other cultures and religions were too. With Elie's story, I really learned a lot about how stereotyping can be taken to the extreme.
